We believe in training smart, playing hard and being there for one another in our learning journey as a team! :) We seek self-challenge and pushing beyond our limits in every training!

Concentration - ability to maintain focus
Confidence - believe in one's abilities
Control - ability to maintain emotional control regardless of distraction

a video found on youtube. Any Given Sunday- Al Pacino
Tony D'Amato:
"Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I'll tell you this, in any fight it's the guy whose willing to die whose gonna win that inch. And I know, if I'm gonna have any life anymore it's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that inch, because that's what living is, the six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen, and either, we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals."
Like football, Dragonboat is a team sport. where every single one of us have to work and improve together. we fail as a team, we win as a team. Girls, we have to start believing in ourselves! be it on yourself or the team, bring out the confidence in you. im sure, the aggresiveness and the fire we need, will come. Believe in each one of us. yes, look into their eyes, row hard for them, like how they will row hard for you! we will keep on trying, till the day we paddle as one. (:

Ask not what your teammates can do for you, Ask what you can do for your teammates.
sometimes, do you feel that its hard to motivate yourself? or sometimes, do you feel that the fire in you isn't enough? if you don't want to do it for yourself, how about doing it for your teammates?
know how much they want it. help them achieve it. Together Everyone Achieve More i remember there was one training, i partnered with my usual Jiale, when she is tired, she started saying: "i do this for Eve's leg, i do this for savie's shoulder" etc etc. she said everyone's name for every repetition. she did it for us.
if you dont want to do it for yourself, why not think about your teammates? lets follow Jiale's example! we do it for one another!
Sub-seniors, shouldn't we do something for our seniors? we've seen them work hard for us, we've seen them train hard. shouldn't they get what they deserve? lets work doubly hard and help them win something this year!! we'll try our best, to get them onto that podium! even if we dont get onto it, we know that we've put in our best, and rowed with no regrets! thats enough isn't it?
Seniors, Thank you for everything! :) GMAIN LOVES ALL OF YOUUUU! xoxo

Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me. - Carol Burnett
the same theory applies when we are rowing. whenever jolly/johnson is changing our strokes, they can only do so much. They can point out your mistakes and guide you in changing your stroke. but they can only do so much for ultimately its up to ourselves whether do we want to change.
Think back and reflect, have you been trying to change? or have you been giving excuses to yourself or to the coach? If we do not change, we can only remain this way, stagnant. And all those goals and targets that we've set is all just words with no essence for the first step to attaining those goals is to change from yourself.
From next training onwards, lets start small by telling yourself to stop giving excuses to yourself and start changing.

Hello girls
i believe all of you have understood the fact that we always get tensed up very easily and whenever we are getting more excited. Just please do remember that all races is gonna be this way and the only thing to do is too keep calm and level headed. No point getting all tensed up and not performing to our optimum just because there's a boat next to us. So just remain composed. We are cool people (:
Anyway as what savie has said, run or swim this week!

Hello girls! (:
from now on, let's make it a point to have an objective at every start of each training! be it for yourself or for the team. objective can be simple. even as simple as, to stretch even further or to twist more. during training, make it a point to work towards that objective! at the end of every training, ask yourself whether your objective is attain. in this way, trainings will be more effective and, there will be something we can look forward to, every training!
Keep the morale high, people! let's improve together as a team and bring TP to a higher level! (:
on a side note:
Take note of your posture, be it during rowing or gymming!
this is to prevent injuries!
and remember to do cardio exercises! (:

Dear girls, i know that there are no gym trainings these few weeks, so please do go for gym sessions on your own during your own free time, and dont forget to run.
Anyway, i know results have just been out. For those who did well, Good job! but for those who didnt, do not feel so dejected and upset yah. Study extra hard next semester. I know thats what we tell ourselves the previous sem when we got back our results but next semester is gonna be different. Just persevere and endure like what we do during training.
I know these few sessions has been a confusion due to some changes being made. but just endure girls. Embrace the changes and lets bring tpdb to greater heights! (:
